İmamoğlu publishes his defence statement from Silivri

İstanbul Metropolitan Mayor and presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu, who was arrested on 23 March and sent to Silivri Marmara Prison, made a notable post on his social media account. İmamoğlu uploaded the full text of the defence statement he delivered at the hearing held at İstanbul Silivri Courthouse on 16 July to his official website, and in his message called on the public to join the fight for justice.

İmamoğlu included the following words in his post:

"O our nation; it is either justice or misery! Do not forget this. Either justice or misery. There is no other way. Where there is justice, there is abundance. We are living through all these hardships and suffering because of whose ambition and stubbornness."

Ey milletimiz; ya adalet ya sefalet!

Bunu unutmayın. Ya adalet ya sefalet. Başka bir yolu yok. Adalet varsa, bereket var. Bütün bu olumsuzlukları, cefayı, kimin ihtirası ve inadı yüzünden yaşıyoruz.
