İmamoğlu reacts sharply to dormitory obstacle: 'Do you have no compassion left for the children of this nation?'

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor and CHP presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu made a striking statement on his social media account, alleging that the government is attempting to block municipal student dormitory projects through legislation.

Accusing the government of being insensitive to the housing rights of young people, İmamoğlu said, "We understand that you can no longer do anything as it should be done. We understand that you have no desire or ambition left other than your seat. But why are you blocking those who are doing the work?"

"CHP MUNICIPALITIES WILL CONTINUE TO BUILD DORMITORIES"

In his statement, İmamoğlu reminded that municipalities are striving to provide high-quality, safe, and affordable dormitories for young people, declaring, "The government is reportedly preparing a legislative proposal. Then it is clear what we will do: We will build dormitories for even more students."

We also understand that you are spending money on usurers, interest-seekers, and profiteers.

What I cannot understand is, why are you trying to block those who are doing the work? Do you have no compassion left for the children of this nation?

The government is reportedly preparing a legislative proposal to prevent municipalities from opening student dormitories. Then it is clear what we will do; we will build dormitories for more students and solve the housing problem for more young people. All our CHP municipalities with the means are building dormitories, and when the nation comes to power soon, we will solve the dormitory problem at its root.

We will ensure our young people live in high-quality, safe, and affordable dormitories as they deserve.
