İmamoğlu responds to Murat Kurum's 'billboard' claim! He mocks him by saying, 'He has a serious grievance!'

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu answered questions from journalists.

Speaking about the 650,000 housing promise made by Murat Kurum, the IMM mayoral candidate of the People's Alliance formed by the AKP and MHP, İmamoğlu said, "It is completely aimed at deceiving the public, it is hollow. We are proposing a system. We are saying let's establish a system. Let's prioritize Istanbul for earthquakes. We are saying let's all work together. He says, 'I will build 650,000 houses'... Meaning he says he will do it when he comes. Mr. Kurum is part of a process, an administration, and a system that has not been able to prove itself. He is not managing a proper campaign."

"I AM SOMEONE WHO DISCLOSES THEIR ASSETS EVERY TERM"

In response to the question, 'Will you disclose your assets?', İmamoğlu said;

"I disclosed them when I became mayor in Beylikdüzü in 2014, and I disclosed my assets in 2019 as well. I will disclose them now too. I am someone who discloses their assets every term. When the day comes, my colleagues will share it with the public."

RESPONSE TO KURUM'S BILLBOARD CLAIM: KURUM HAS A SERIOUS GRIEVANCE

İmamoğlu also responded to Kurum's claim that 'The billboards we paid for are being removed, and they are hanging their own billboards in their place. We have footage and proof.'

Pointing out that Kurum does not have a solo photo on his election posters, İmamoğlu said, "Oh dear, what can I say? I am very sorry. If he wants to create a grievance for himself here, it will never stick. I said it the other day too. For 5 years, not a single minute of news about me has been made on TRT, the state institution that runs on my taxes. State institutions did not accept the IMM's campaign as advertisements. In Turkey, 8-9-10 channels do not accept our advertisements even with payment. Our mayoral candidate in Sultangazi sends me videos of his posters being cut almost every day. Kurum has a serious grievance. I haven't been able to see a single photo of him alone anywhere. He has that kind of grievance. I hope he resolves that grievance of his."

WHAT DID MURAT KURUM SAY?

Claiming that posters were being removed from billboards by the IMM administration, Murat Kurum had said the following:

"We want projects, goals, and dreams for Istanbul to compete. The current IMM administration is doing everything in its power to change the agenda. They talk about democracy, they hold justice marches. According to what justice or law are you removing the billboards we paid for? With what mindset are you sending your municipal police to take down our billboards? We will hold you accountable for these on the evening of March 31."
