İmamoğlu speaks in Kağıthane: 'The wasters are gone, the doers have arrived. The profiteers are gone, the populists have arrived'

Continuing his local election campaign, CHP candidate and incumbent Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu addressed citizens in Kağıthane.

Calling on the AKP government, İmamoğlu said, "Our precious teachers are very troubled and angry about appointments. Stop dealing with Ekrem İmamoğlu in Istanbul. Solve the problems of the teachers who cannot be appointed."

İmamoğlu continued his remarks as follows;

The wasters are gone, the doers have arrived. The profiteers are gone, the populists have arrived. And they are populists who follow in the footsteps of the Republic and Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. Tell those who wonder about the source of our energy this: the source of Ekrem İmamoğlu's energy is in the markets and bazaars, the source of his energy is while talking to our beautiful mothers, while sharing their troubles...

We draw our energy from the love of the people. But they cannot understand this. Because can they go to the market or the bazaar? They cannot. They don't have the face for it. They have no answers to questions. They are lazy, they don't work. If they worked, would our retirees be this victimized? Would unemployment be this high?

"THEY ARE TELLING LIES TO SMEAR THE CHP"

This government, the mentality that came and fielded a candidate against us... Someone must have told him on the way here that 'There is a hospital in Kağıthane' and he must have said 'So what?'. 'We moved that hospital. But we didn't move it'. He got confused. They must have told him, 'Just say the CHP moved this hospital to take the short way,' and he went out and said this. There is so much hypocrisy in their souls that they are telling lies to smear Ekrem İmamoğlu and the Republican People's Party through a lie.

They wrote a letter, they said 'We are leaving here'. They didn't even notify anyone while leaving. They fled to the other hospital in a hurry, as if running away. I learned it from the newspaper, I called my friends and came to the building two days later. The building looks abandoned. They don't even have state decorum. We do what I say. Because we think of the people. We think about what will happen to the pharmacy and the market there.

They don't worry about that. They leave in a hurry because an order came from somewhere. But the people brought them to their knees. Now they want to come for votes. They will forget that after the election. If you win the election in Kağıthane, that hospital will come running. You become valuable if you don't do what they say. We are the ones who are in consensus.

"RETIREES SAY 'I AM BURNING'"

A retiree tells us; 'I am burning. I reached this age and built 5 apartments for my 5 children. I retired and this state of mine made me dependent on my 5 children,' he says. There is no cry more painful than this. The mind that does not hear this is that mind. But the mind that asks how I can contribute to Istanbul is the mind of the populist Ekrem İmamoğlu and his team. We will provide 9 thousand lira in rent support. If they have a house that needs to be transformed, we will cover 65 percent of it. It is a matter of feeling your people. We opened nurseries for our children. We are distributing milk. We are opening City Restaurants. We are increasing social aid by 6 times. We are not playing politics, we are serving our people. For them, politics is an end, the party is an end, a mentality that sanctifies the leader of their party... Our sacred is our people. We don't look at who they are. We love them because of the Creator."

People's Alliance IMM Mayoral Candidate Murat Kurum had made the following statements at the rally held in Kağıthane on March 13:

“There is a hospital owned by the Metropolitan Municipality. That hospital is not providing service. We will bring our hospital, which is owned by the IMM, to our Kağıthane together with our Ministry of Health. You ask, we will work and do it.”
