İmamoğlu speaks to foreign press: 'They have lost hope in the ruling party...'
Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu held a meeting with international media organizations. In his remarks, İmamoğlu stated that citizens have lost hope in the ruling party and that Turkey has charted a new course.
İBB Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu stated in his remarks to foreign press members that voters have demonstrated their will for change, which they had previously postponed due to a lack of trust in the opposition, and that Turkey has charted a new course.
İmamoğlu used the following expressions:
“Our citizens, who have been affected by the economic disaster experienced in the country for a long time and are becoming increasingly impoverished, have lost hope in the ruling party. Citizens have shown that they do not want an unjust government that makes them needy by impoverishing them, but rather a state of law that distributes prosperity fairly. Secondly, they showed that they see our party as an alternative to the government. Thirdly, they have redistributed legitimacy, made our party the leading party, and brought balance to politics by giving us the majority in local councils in many cities, including Istanbul.”
