İmamoğlu's diploma revoked, police alert in Istanbul: All leaves canceled

Activity has increased in Istanbul following the revocation of the university diploma of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor and CHP presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu. While it was announced that İmamoğlu's diploma was deemed invalid by a decision taken by Istanbul University, the decision has caused widespread repercussions in the public eye.

Following the diploma revocation, security measures in Istanbul have also been raised to the highest level. According to a report by Türkiye Gazetesi, the Istanbul Police Department has taken a notable step, especially ahead of the rally the CHP will hold in Maltepe tomorrow.

LEAVES CANCELED 

The leaves of all police officers serving across Istanbul have been canceled until further notice. Police officials stated that large-scale measures have been taken against potential protest demonstrations and the intensity of participation in the rally.

MALTEPE RALLY WILL PROCEED 

The CHP wing, meanwhile, announced that the rally in Maltepe will take place as planned. Party officials stated that they will initiate the legal process regarding the revocation of İmamoğlu's diploma while inviting citizens to the rally.

On the other hand, information was shared from sources within the Istanbul Governorship and the Police Department that no security vulnerabilities will be allowed across the city and that all necessary precautions have been taken.
