IMM Deputy Mayor Nuri Aslan visits Sırrı Süreyya Önder

Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) Deputy Speaker and DEM Party Istanbul MP Sırrı Süreyya Önder was taken into surgery at approximately 23:30 due to an aortic dissection.

While Önder's surgery was ongoing, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Deputy Mayor Nuri Aslan arrived at the hospital and received information about Önder's health status from DEM Party officials and doctors.

Following the visit, Aslan made statements to members of the press in front of the hospital.

'OUR CHAIRMAN SIRRI IS A FIGURE BELOVED BY SOCIETY'

IMM Deputy Mayor Nuri Aslan said, "I have just visited our co-chairs. Our Chairman Sırrı is a figure beloved by society. He is not just an MP or a Deputy Speaker of the TBMM; he is an artist and a leader of opinion. Our prayers are with him; may God Almighty grant that he walks out of here. May He grant him a long life as a leader who is beneficial to his country and nation, continuing the process he leads. Our prayers are with him, and we ask for the prayers of our nation as well."

'HE IS CURRENTLY IN INTENSIVE CARE, HIS TREATMENT IS ONGOING'

Providing an update on Önder's health status, Aslan stated, "He is currently in intensive care, and his treatment is ongoing. I would like to say that all the resources of the state, the nation, and the hospital are being utilized for Sırrı Süreyya to regain his health. This is an important matter; because all the resources of the state and the nation have been mobilized for our TBMM Deputy Speaker and Mr. Sırrı, who has reached a position above party politics. As a citizen, this has made me happy."
