Increase in CHP's seat count in Parliament! Here is the number of deputies by party

The Republican People's Party (CHP) has increased its strength in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) with the recent participation of independent deputies. Istanbul Deputy Doğan Demir, who left the Future Party in July and continued his duties as an independent, joined the CHP at the latest group meeting, bringing the party's seat count to 139.

Before Demir's participation, Sakarya Deputy Ümit Dikbayır, Istanbul Deputy Evrim Rızvanoğlu, and Tekirdağ Deputy Cem Avşar had also joined the CHP. These developments have increased the party's representation power in the TBMM.

On the other hand, the total number of deputies in the TBMM has decreased from 600 to 592 due to various reasons. The deaths of Saadet Party Kocaeli Deputy Hasan Bitmez and DEM Party Istanbul Deputy Sırrı Süreyya Önder, the revocation of the parliamentary membership of Workers' Party of Turkey (TİP) Hatay Deputy Şerafettin Can Atalay, and the resignations of some deputies to run for mayoral positions were influential in this change.
