Instruction from Kılıçdaroğlu to MPs! "Let the preparations begin now"

The Republican People's Party (CHP) is moving step by step toward its Party Congress. CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu met with a group of MPs at his party's headquarters regarding the local elections.

According to a report by Cumhuriyet; it was learned that Kılıçdaroğlu told the MPs during the meetings, "Everyone should work in their own region. Let the preparations begin now. Let us start working on which regions we can enter the elections in and with whom."

HE WILL CONTINUE THE MEETINGS

According to the information obtained, Kılıçdaroğlu will continue to meet with MPs in groups in the coming days for local election preparations. In the meantime, the MPs who met with Kılıçdaroğlu will return to their electoral districts to conduct field work. In the work carried out by the MPs, attention will also be paid to identifying a "well-liked candidate suitable for the region." Finally, the MPs will compile the work they have done in their regions into a report and present it to Kılıçdaroğlu.

These reports and suggestions will be utilized for everything from the party's candidate determination process to the campaign to be conducted in the local elections. According to the MPs who attended the meetings, beyond protecting the municipalities it currently holds, the CHP will first focus on municipalities it lost by a narrow margin. Additionally, the party will concentrate on provinces where it only holds one parliamentary seat.

"THE PARTY ASSEMBLY WILL DECIDE"

On the other hand, the MPs who attended the meeting stated that because the party is in the process of holding a congress, these meetings are for now only "listening to suggestions and brainstorming" sessions. Stating that the party must first get past the congress agenda, the CHP members said, "How will candidates be determined, will there be a primary, who will be the candidates; these are all things that will become clear after the congress. Therefore, it is not right to say anything yet. A new Party Assembly (PM) will be formed after the congress. All of these will be under its authority."
