Insult case against Kılıçdaroğlu's lawyer dropped! Complainant withdrew the complaint

The lawsuit in which former CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu was being tried on allegations of insulting lawyer Mustafa Doğan İnal has been dropped on the grounds that the complainant withdrew the complaint.

The case, in which Kılıçdaroğlu was being tried with a request for up to 2 years in prison due to the remarks he made about lawyer Mustafa Doğan İnal during the TBMM CHP Group Meeting on October 17, 2023, in which he said "there is no man as dirty as this," has been concluded.

While Kılıçdaroğlu did not attend the hearing held at the Istanbul 48th Criminal Court of First Instance, the lawyers for both parties were present.

The lawyer for the complainant, İnal, stated during the hearing that they were withdrawing their complaint against Kılıçdaroğlu in the case file.

Kılıçdaroğlu's lawyer, presenting the defense, requested that a decision to drop the case be issued on the grounds that the complainant party had withdrawn the complaint.

Announcing its decision on the merits, the court ruled for a 'dismissal' of the case on the grounds that the complainant party had withdrawn the complaint.

FROM THE INDICTMENT

In the indictment prepared by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, Mustafa Doğan İnal was listed as the 'complainant' and Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu as the 'suspect'.

The indictment stated that Kılıçdaroğlu, while explicitly using the name of the complainant İnal during the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Republican People's Party Group Meeting, made remarks such as "there is no man as dirty as this" and "disclose this man's assets, brother."

The indictment, which also noted that the file had been sent to the Conciliation Bureau, recorded that no agreement could be reached between the parties despite this. The prepared indictment requested that Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu be sentenced to 3 months to 2 years in prison for the crime of 'insult'.
