Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya meets with MHP leader Bahçeli

Ankara, which has recently been dominated by developments regarding the Ayhan Bora Kaplan criminal organization and the investigation into the Sinan Ateş murder, has been the scene of a critical meeting.

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya visited MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli at the TBMM (Grand National Assembly of Turkey) to provide information on his ministry's actions over the past year, as well as its efforts in combating terrorism, gangs, and organized crime syndicates.

This visit drew attention particularly because it followed allegations of a "coup" made by Bahçeli and former Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu, as well as claims regarding police officers who were suspended and arrested in the Ayhan Bora Kaplan investigation.

INSTRUCTIONS FROM ERDOĞAN

According to Habertürk, Minister Yerlikaya's visit to the MHP leader was carried out with the instruction and knowledge of AKP President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

During the visit, Minister Yerlikaya explained to Bahçeli the challenges they have faced in the fight against criminal organizations and terrorism, the steps they have taken, the results they have achieved, and their future goals.

According to the report, Minister Yerlikaya also provided information to Bahçeli regarding the steps taken in the financial aspect of the fight against organized crime.

MHP Chairman Bahçeli had previously raised certain questions during his parliamentary group meetings regarding the Ayhan Bora Kaplan case and events within the Ministry of Interior. In this meeting, Minister Yerlikaya conveyed the answers to these questions to Bahçeli firsthand.

The meeting also included an evaluation of the regulation in the 8th Judicial Package regarding the appointment of the TMSF (Savings Deposit Insurance Fund) as a trustee to companies in the fight against money laundering, as well as the issue of trustees in general.
