Investigation could be launched into CHP's Köksal! Decision reached in listening device probe

A decision of non-prosecution has been issued in the investigation regarding the alleged placement of hidden recording devices in the Afyonkarahisar Municipality building.

The Afyonkarahisar Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has completed the investigation it launched into the alleged placement of hidden recording devices in the municipal building.

In the decision stating that there were no grounds for prosecution, it was noted that as a result of the Provincial Security Directorate teams failing to find any evidence during their search of the Mayor's office floor, evidence collection procedures were carried out, including obtaining security camera footage, open-source research, image analysis, witness research, witness statements, and requesting information from the municipality and the victim.

DEVICES WERE DESTROYED

It was stated that Afyonkarahisar Mayor Burcu Köksal responded to the memorandum questions prepared by the prosecutor's office within the scope of the investigation on April 29, declaring that the hidden recording devices were destroyed as soon as they were seen without any minutes or reports being kept, and that she was not filing a complaint against anyone.

WILL AN INVESTIGATION BE LAUNCHED INTO KÖKSAL?

As a result of the examination, the prosecutor's office decided that "since it is understood that the event subject to the allegation is not real, there are no grounds for public prosecution regarding the event and the suspect(s)."

If this decision is not appealed within the time limit or if the appeal is rejected, an investigation could be launched against Burcu Köksal for the crimes of "fabricating a crime" and "slander."
