The 7th Chairman of the CHP, Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, made notable statements months after the CHP congress where he lost to Özgür Özel. 

Responding to questions from journalists Elif Doğan Şentürk, Zafer Arapkirli, Ali Kemal Erdem, and Atakan Sönmez on KRT TV, Kılıçdaroğlu spoke about his remark at the CHP congress, "I had to enter the election with daggers in my back," as follows:

"What would you say if the friends you set out with, the ones you fought alongside and struggled with, and who said 'You must be the presidential candidate,' turn around and do the exact opposite? I will leave this to the judgment of the citizens. As if I were forcing myself to be a presidential candidate. Such a thing never crossed my mind. But in both the Central Executive Board (MYK) and the Party Assembly (PM), they said, 'It is essential, you absolutely must be the one,' with many 'buts.' These were said in every meeting. We said, 'Very well, let us abide by the party's decision.' Now, afterward, they say, 'I wish he hadn't been a candidate.' I entered politics upon an offer. You do not become a chairman just by saying you will be. Chairmanship is a matter of conjecture. If public opinion reaches a certain maturity regarding you becoming chairman, you inevitably become chairman."

HE ADDRESSED AKŞENER: THIS WILL BE MY FIRST QUESTION

"I do not know for what reason Ms. Akşener left the table and returned. One day, when the environment is appropriate, this will be my first question. We fought under such difficult conditions. If you are going to comment, you must look at the atmosphere of that day. There is a mental block. The journalism I know is not like this. It researches, it looks. Without going into any detail, they ask directly how we can attack Kılıçdaroğlu, how we can criticize him. In the polls of that day, I was coming out ahead; in today's polls, someone else is ahead. Well, why didn't you say that back then?"

Kılıçdaroğlu responded to the question, "Are you resentful toward IMM Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu?" by saying, "Chairmen, of course, have their resentments and sorrows. I spoke with him by phone during the holiday."
