It had become a hot topic! MHP issues statement on Bahçeli's video

MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli's video, in which he walks to the accompaniment of Ferdi Tayfur's song "Söyleten Sensin," was published on the party's official account. The question of who the video was directed at had become a hot topic in the public eye. 

Furthermore, Bahçeli did not attend the April 23 reception held at the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) due to health issues.

MHP Deputy Chairman Semih Yalçın responded to claims that the video was a message directed at the alliance with the AKP. 

"THAT IS ALL THERE IS TO IT"

Speaking to TGRT Haber, MHP's Yalçın stated that the video was not a message directed at the AKP:

"A news report circulated yesterday morning saying, 'Mr. Devlet Bahçeli had surgery, that is why he did not attend the April 23 ceremonies.' I have not spoken to our elder yet; but in all likelihood, this video was made for that reason. The things in the video are not directed at the People's Alliance; friends are misinterpreting them. There is no such thing. Our chairman likes Ferdi Tayfur.  He also goes out for walks, and they published a snapshot from there on the advice of his doctor. That is all there is to it.

Let's think about the song lyrics there in a different way, for example; wouldn't it be more accurate to interpret the lyrics as being directed at Meral Akşener, who left us, and her team, rather than the People's Alliance? Their congress is coming up on Saturday; I am saying this as an alternative interpretation."

"TO THOSE WHO SEE AND REMAIN SILENT..."

Regarding claims that it could be a stance against the removal of Turkish flags at DEM Party meetings, he stated, "Yes, we are very much against that; we are also against those who see that and remain silent. But it has nothing to do with the video."
