İYİ Party continues to lose blood: Founding Board member resigns

Resignations continue in the İYİ Party, which announced that it would not form an alliance with the CHP in the local elections and has emphasized being "free and independent."

WAVE OF RESIGNATIONS CONTINUES

Announcing his resignation in a post on his social media account, İYİ Party Founding Board Member and former Ankara Provincial Chair Mesut Özarslan said, "I still do not understand how the events regarding the conspiracies implied about me in the media evolved to this point." 

In his post, Özarslan stated, "Let the public know that; with my loyalty to the values I believe in, I declare that I have not engaged in any meetings or actions on my own initiative outside of my Chairperson's instructions, and I am resigning from my İYİ Party membership."

In the statement he made regarding his resignation, Mesut Özarslan noted the following: 

"On October 25, 2017, we founded the İYİ Party with a great struggle, overcoming difficult paths under the leadership of our Chairperson, Ms. Meral AKŞENER, by coming together with our nationalist and democratic friends from all segments of our country to be a hope for the Great Turkish Nation.

Throughout the time I spent under the roof of the İYİ Party; I tried to do my best to ensure the rise and development of our party and to represent our party and my fellow party members worthily in the duties I undertook in the bureaucracy, with the responsibility of having undertaken the Founding Board Membership, Ankara Founding Provincial Chairmanship, General Administrative Board Membership, Deputy Chairmanship of Organization, and many other duties.

I owe a debt of gratitude to my Chairperson, the members of the İYİ Party, all its organizations, my young friends, and my fellow citizens of Ankara for the projects we carried out together, the campaigns we conducted, the effort we expended, and the dedication, sincerity, and support we showed.

I still do not understand how the events regarding the conspiracies implied about me in the media evolved to this point. However, let the public know that; with my loyalty to the values I believe in, I declare that I have not engaged in any meetings or actions on my own initiative outside of my Chairperson's instructions, and I am resigning from my İYİ Party membership.

Maintaining the desire to serve the Noble Turkish Nation, I will continue to work with determination for the unity, peace, and prosperity of our homeland in the light of the principles of the Republic and Atatürk."
