Statement from IYI Party's Türkoğlu on the tension in the commission: 'If you force this nation to deal with terror sympathizers, this is what happens'

Regarding the tension at today's meeting of the 'National Solidarity, Brotherhood and Democracy' Commission, Türkoğlu said, "If you force this noble nation to deal with terror sympathizers and enemies of the republic and democracy, this is what happens.

Therefore, this scene in the commission is a manifestation of the obvious and, in our view, a common occurrence.

Treason cannot be called dialogue. Surrender cannot be called a resolution process. Turn back from this negligence, this error, and this betrayal while there is still time. Otherwise, neither history nor the nation will forgive you," he said.

"SIX OF ONE, HALF A DOZEN OF THE OTHER"

IYI Party Bursa Deputy Selçuk Türkoğlu made a statement regarding the tension that occurred today during the eleventh meeting of the 'National Solidarity, Brotherhood and Democracy' Commission. Türkoğlu stated the following:

"We said don't do it, we said this would be called a 'commission of betrayal,' we said that nothing but negligence, error, and betrayal would come out of this commission established 'against' the Turkish Nation, and that it would never produce a result in the nation's interest. They wouldn't listen.

What happened now? If you glorify the murderer of 50 thousand people by giving him the title of founding leader, if you legitimize terror and terrorists; and if you give concession after concession to those who support them; you will experience these absurdities. What happened? A fight broke out between the representatives of the 'Union of Scholars and Madrasas,' known to be supporters of HÜDAPAR, who were invited to the commission, and the DEM party members.

One is a supporter of a terrorist organization, the other is a registered Hezbollah-affiliated enemy of the Republic and democracy. Six of one, half a dozen of the other. If you force this noble nation to deal with terror sympathizers and enemies of the Republic and democracy, this is what happens. Therefore; this scene in the commission is a manifestation of the obvious and, in our view, a common occurrence. 

"TURN BACK FROM THIS NEGLIGENCE, THIS ERROR, AND THIS BETRAYAL"

We have said it from the very beginning: This commission is not a resolution process or anything of the sort. On the contrary; just like before, this process is a betrayal aimed at tearing apart, dividing, and polarizing Turkey. Can a result in the nation's interest come from a table where our soldiers and police are insulted? It cannot, it will not.  We warned them repeatedly. Today, we shout it once again: No table established against the Turkish nation is legitimate. Treason cannot be called dialogue. Surrender cannot be called a resolution process. Turn back from this negligence, this error, and this betrayal while there is still time. Otherwise, neither history nor the nation will forgive you"
