İYİ Party leader Dervişoğlu criticizes Öcalan's call! 'The lines were written by someone else'

İYİ Party Chairman Müsavat Dervişoğlu, speaking on a program he attended on Sözcü TV regarding the call by PKK terrorist organization leader Abdullah Öcalan, said, "Abdullah Öcalan did not make a call. Abdullah Öcalan was asked to make a call. It is understood from this that someone else is writing the lines."

"IS IT SO HARD TO PROVE TO THEM THAT THEY ARE NOT STRANGERS TO THESE LANDS?"

Expressing that everyone would want to live in peace, Dervişoğlu said, "A person's mirror is their work; one does not look at words. This is not a process that can be solved with the founder of a terrorist organization that has been a scourge on Turkey for nearly half a century and a terrorist leader sentenced to aggravated life imprisonment in İmralı. I am of the opinion that certain roles have been assigned within the scope of the Greater Middle East Project, that the lines have been prepared, that it has been planned who will say what and when, and that the calendar to turn all of this from thought into action has been set. I do not believe in any plan or project designed under the guidance of the murderer in İmralı. First and foremost, the Republic of Turkey must take the right steps toward solving the problems related to the issue... They are creating anxiety as if we are forming a response with a segment of society through our rhetoric. This is wrong. I cannot accept the situation where Kurds are placed as the subject at the center of every problem in Turkey. On one hand, we are taking these steps, and on the other, we are resorting to the appointment of trustees. The duty of those who govern the Republic of Turkey is to ensure that the people living in this society feel they belong here. It is not to try to get results by feeding off these divisions and differences politically. Is it so hard to prove to them that the people living in this country are not strangers to these lands?"

"I DO NOT SEE ANY SIGN OF GOOD INTENT"

Emphasizing that Erdoğan has had great opportunities to solve the problems, Dervişoğlu said, "If the government, which has been in power for 25 years, tries to feed off differences and divisions rather than a sense of belonging, then of course the result will be like this. I do not see any sign of good intent in this process."

Dervişoğlu added, "I am of the opinion that there are people within the government who would show the right path to Tayyip Erdoğan, but this system has brought Erdoğan to such a state that, I express with regret, Erdoğan no longer even has the patience to listen to the right thing."

"IT IS DESIRED THAT CONSTITUTIONAL MOVES BE BROUGHT BACK TO LIFE"

When reminded that the People's Alliance had previously accused the opposition of standing side-by-side with terrorism, Dervişoğlu said, "The government, which did not refrain from preparing fake documents and making montage films to associate [the opposition] with the terrorist organization back then, is now taking wrong steps that could ensure the construction of a terrorist state on its own borders. Turkey is creating a 'terroristan' on its own border. Therefore, the question of 'what has changed' is very clear and distinct. At that time, that was necessary to win; in this period, it is desired that constitutional moves, which are being considered for change in order to win and implement cursed ideas, be brought back to life. And Tayyip Erdoğan desires to emerge from this situation with the image of being the only person who can govern this country. This is extremely dangerous."

"I FEEL THE NEED TO WARN THE OPPOSITION ALONG WITH THE GOVERNMENT"

Dervişoğlu stated, "Because I do not accept the Gazi Assembly being made an instrument of such a process, I feel the need to warn the opposition along with the government. What will the TBMM (Grand National Assembly of Turkey) do? We have a constitution in our hands. What problem of Turkey has not been discussed until now, what issue has not been talked about? Turkey does not have questions that are not talked about or discussed; it has problems that are not solved."

"THIS SHAME IS ENOUGH FOR THE GOVERNMENT"

When asked about Öcalan's words, "40 years ago the Kurd had no name, today they have municipalities," Dervişoğlu evaluated, "What has this been secured with? With terror, with murder, with the slaughter of our martyrs. It has been obtained through terrorist activities. I was not born yesterday; I also had many Kurdish friends. Saying '40 years ago the Kurd didn't even have a name' means that we secured this through the armed struggle we waged. The very fact that someone who has been tried in the courts of the Republic of Turkey and sentenced to aggravated life imprisonment has been turned into a political leader on such matters is enough for this government if one is looking for shame."

"IT IS PROBABLE THAT STEPS WILL BE TAKEN TOWARD THE RELEASE OF ÖCALAN"

When asked "Will Öcalan be released?", Dervişoğlu replied, "Everything can be attempted. Erdoğan answered this when the situation came to the agenda. He said, 'There are some claims that we will pardon Öcalan, the man doesn't want to come out.' This means that some opinions were expressed to that person regarding whether he should come out or not. He said that it would be more appropriate for him to continue his life in İmralı for his own safety. But it means someone asked Öcalan, 'Do you want to come out?' It is probable that steps will be taken toward this. Because the 'right to hope' has been mentioned for the last few days. I would like to state that as the İYİ Party, we will take a stand against the planned regulations."

"IT IS NOT AMONG THE POWERS OF THE TBMM"

When asked about his reaction to the CHP, Dervişoğlu said, "Seeking a solution to this issue in the TBMM and stating that TBMM Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş should take initiative are extremely dangerous sentences. What is wanted here? Questioning the Turkish identity, the definition of citizenship, the unitary state structure, and the national state understanding is not among the powers of the TBMM. If steps are to be taken toward making some regulations along this path, these are sentences sent to make this current cursed plan look innocent. Opposition parties should not evaluate my expressions as a stance against them. When one says 'opposition party,' a feeling is created that I am only making a statement toward the Republican People's Party. Leaders of other parties in the opposition status are also saying this. I am saying this as a whole; the way to stop this bad course is to act with the consciousness of citizenship and, regardless of which political party we are in, to show resistance against the negativity. We have no other way. I am aware of the existence of people within the Justice and Development Party and within the People's Alliance who will identify the bad course and who have the desire to prevent that bad course. Let this nation be aware of it too."

"ROLES HAVE BEEN DISTRIBUTED, LINES HAVE BEEN PREPARED"

When reminded of the dialogues between the DEM Party and MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli, Dervişoğlu said, "There is something that is wanted to be implemented. Roles have been distributed, lines have been prepared, the timing has been planned. A set has practically been built. Therefore, everyone plays their own role when the time comes. I feel as if I am on a film set. If so many people are paying each other such compliments, it is clear that they are part of the same scenario and are reading prepared lines. You know, 'set romances' are born in such intimate relationships. I wish for this to be defined as 'process romances' and for it to be a subject of gossip rather than politics."

Reminding that according to the Constitution, Erdoğan cannot run for office again and emphasizing that his appetite should not be whetted at this point, Dervişoğlu said, "I cannot stomach the opposition being the cause of this."

Stating that they evaluate the resignations of deputies in the İYİ Party as a purification and liberation, Dervişoğlu added that there is an increase in his party's votes.
