İYİ Party leader Meral Akşener announces Buğra Kavuncu as the party's Istanbul candidate

İYİ Party Chair Meral Akşener announced that her party's candidate for Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayor is Buğra Kavuncu.

Akşener, who also announced the candidates for Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality and Sincan Municipality, noted that her party's candidate for Balıkesir is Turhan Çömez and for Sincan is Fatih Koca.

CRITICISM OF CHP REGARDING NATO

"As you know, the protocol for Sweden's accession to NATO was accepted yesterday in Parliament with the 'yes' votes of the People's Alliance and the CHP, despite our party's 'no' vote. As the İYİ Party, we have stood behind what we said from the very beginning. We experienced a vote that was essentially a litmus test. We witnessed those who said 'we will not sign the same declaration as the AK Party' raising their hands in favor."

RETIREE SALARIES

If the minimum wage is the minimum wage, how can a retiree's salary be below the minimum wage? For 3 years, we have been calling for the equalization of retiree salaries with the minimum wage. We are facing a situation that is getting worse for our retirees every day. Retirees who received a salary 24 percent above the minimum wage just 10 years ago are now receiving almost half of the minimum wage today.

Mr. Erdoğan, lift the heavy burden on our retirees. Raise the lowest salary to the level of the minimum wage. Give up on the 'base salary' business. Do not punish those who pay premiums on high wages. Our retirees are responsible not only for their own lives but also for the lives of their children."

DISTRICT GOVERNOR-IMAM DISPUTE

Another fight broke out over the scandal of a mosque imam not reading the section about our martyrs during the sermon. Moreover, it is such a grave fight... On one side, the imam says he is being pressured. On the other side, baseless allegations are flying regarding the district governor who reminded the imam of his duty. Even the shape of the district governor's mustache is overshadowing the disrespect shown to the cherished memory of our martyrs.

For God's sake, can such a scandal exist? Who is pressuring this state's imam, why, and how? What is going on? Have we switched to a multi-legal system in Turkey based on regions? Have we started having different sermons read depending on the place, the mosque, and the pressure? Why don't those who govern the state reveal these? Why is the Diyanet remaining silent?

ISTANBUL CANDIDATE IS BUĞRA KAVUNCU

Akşener announced that her Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality mayoral candidate for the local elections is Buğra Kavuncu. Announcing that the Balıkesir mayoral candidate is Turhan Çömez, Akşener also announced that the Sincan mayoral candidate is Fatih Koca.

Akşener announced Kavuncu's candidacy with these words:

"Buğra Kavuncu said 'I am a candidate, I want it.' Our Istanbul mayoral candidate is Buğra Kavuncu."
