"HE COULD NOT SHOW THAT COURAGE"

When asked about Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş's statements on a television program, Akşener said, "Mr. Mansur Yavaş turned his cowardice into an example of courage by conducting an operation against our party. I would like to express that I find this shameful. This was told to him with witnesses and proof. Therefore, he could not muster the courage. He was afraid to accept the demand of the citizens, of the nation. He could not show that courage, he could not put up that fight. Ultimately, those days have passed, and today he confessed. He confessed that our party's provincial chair and all district chairs resigned and worked with him. In other words, his courage was only enough for the İYİ Party. I applaud him."

"THIS WAS NOT THE WAY"

Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş, who answered journalists' questions on a Habertürk broadcast, said regarding Meral Akşener's offer during the presidential elections for both him and Ekrem İmamoğlu to "be the presidential candidate": "She called on both Ekrem and me. Well, what would have happened if we both accepted? Would we have drawn lots? This was not the way to do it. Throughout this process, I said everywhere regarding my candidacy, 'I will be a candidate if the Table of Six nominates me.' Everyone was calling me a 'coward' and so on. Ümit Özdağ also wanted me to be a candidate. Should I have been a candidate immediately? We would have looked at who came out in the polls. If they had said 'be a candidate,' I would have been. I already said I would have been if there was a consensus."
