İYİ Party leader Meral Akşener's statement on DEM Party: 'In our eyes, it has no political legitimacy'

İYİ Party leader Meral Akşener spoke at her party's group meeting.

Reminding that there are ongoing trials for imprisoned journalists Süha Çardaklı and Serkan Kafkas, Akşener also stated that Ayşe Ateş would make a statement at the site where her husband was killed, on the first anniversary of the assassination of Sinan Ateş.

Akşener commemorated the 12 martyrs by reading their names one by one.

"IT HAS NO POLITICAL LEGITIMACY"

A so-called political party whose name constantly changes but whose devotion to the head of the terrorists never changes has no political legitimacy in our eyes.

Those who try to use our Kurdish citizens as a shield and whitewash terrorism have no place in our veteran parliament. We do not accept a murderer who has slaughtered tens of thousands of our people being marketed as a value of the Kurds. Kurds are the pure and honorable children of this homeland.

Those who attempt to whitewash terrorism have no place in our veteran parliament. Statements claiming that Öcalan is a value of the Kurds have no resonance with any child of this homeland. Kurds are too valuable to be mentioned even with a terrorist who has the blood of tens of thousands on his hands. Kurds are the pure and honorable children of this country. It seems this has been forgotten. This murderer, who is wanted to be mentioned as a value of the Kurds, took the lives of thousands of innocents. Is this the value of the Kurds? This murderer slaughtered babies sleeping in their cradles.

The real problem here is not with Turkey, the Turkish nation, or the Kurds; it is those who give them this audacity, those who are not remote-controlled. It is those who had the letter read. It is the parties that change shape for the sake of votes.

MESSAGE ON TRUSTEES

I want to address the government from here; we have local elections ahead of us. If you want to fight terrorism, then block those affiliated with terrorism. If you are sincere, stop the secret bargaining over the issue of trustees. Do not distract our nation with a Karagöz and Hacivat play. There is a security investigation for a person to be a candidate. Let the upcoming elections be a milestone. Let the YSK (Supreme Election Council) not put people affiliated with terrorism before our nation. If you are serious about your discomfort, do what is necessary instead of complaining from the podium. We are ready, I challenge you.

On one side, there are those trying to appear charming to the DEM members, and those who remain silent on HÜDAPAR. Even if everyone else stays silent, we as the İYİ Party will never be silent. We will never remain silent in the face of this hypocritical theater. We will not allow anyone to cast aspersions on the integrity of our state or our Turkishness. For the Turkish nation, being condemned to mediocrity is over. The era of those who suck up for the sake of elections is over. It is time to call a traitor a traitor and a jackal a jackal.

On the parliamentary podium, there is terrorism propaganda on one hand and talk of autonomy on the other. The only party that speaks out against this insolence is the İYİ Party. REACTION TO MINISTER TEKİN'S STATEMENTS ON RELIGIOUS SECTS

BUDGET NEGOTIATIONS

While saying that Turkey would now have a current account surplus, the current account deficit reached a record high. All this stubbornness and wrong policies have impoverished our nation. Turkey entered a food crisis not even seen during World War II. The 2023 budget deficit was increased to over 1 trillion 600 billion. The 2024 budget was prepared and passed under these conditions. The 2024 budget expenditures are 11 trillion 89 billion liras. Such a deficit has been given that it is at the highest level. The appropriation spent for agricultural support is only 91 billion liras. The farmer is told 'fend for yourself'.

Retirees receive a monthly salary half the poverty line. Erdoğan, who said before the May 14 elections that whatever we give to civil servants, we will give the same to retirees, has forgotten all his promises. There are no women in this budget either; the allocated appropriation is only 3.8 billion liras. The scholarship and dormitory problems experienced by our students are also not there.

LOCAL ELECTIONS

Our nation is squeezed between two fists. I claim; our nation will pull both ears of both the opposition and the government. That is why we will take over the flag.

Since the day we were founded, we have brought vitality back to a politics that had become barren. Nobody should be offended, we will be a nuisance. We have disrupted the order of those who feed on the status quo. We have disrupted the plans of those who make career plans on our backs and thank others.
