İYİ Party officials announce condition for cooperation with CHP, calling it their 'red line'!

In the İYİ Party, which has decided to field candidates in all 81 provinces for the local elections, the political corridors have become active following CHP leader Özgür Özel's call for cooperation.

While the İYİ Party has determined its candidates in 71 locations to date, Chairwoman Meral Akşener stated that Özel's proposal will be discussed at the GİK (General Administrative Board) meeting to be held on December 4.

According to a report by Cumhuriyet; the proposal will also be comprehensively examined at the Presidential Council meeting to be held on the same day. Akşener's traffic of meetings with party officials and organization managers has intensified ahead of the GİK meeting. After a brief evaluation with the members of the Presidential Council following Özel's call, Akşener held a consultation meeting with Ankara's provincial and district managers with the participation of İYİ Party Organization President Buğra Kavuncu.

POSITIVE OUTLOOK ON COOPERATION IN ANKARA, ISTANBUL, AND AYDIN

According to information obtained from some provincial and district managers, the majority involved in the discussions are warm to the idea of cooperation in Ankara. It was learned that meetings with Istanbul district managers were held yesterday. Akşener also met with the İYİ Party Advisory Board to evaluate Özel's proposal. During the intense meeting traffic, while some prominent figures advocated for entering the elections “freely and independently,” it was learned that the majority approaches the idea of cooperation specifically in Ankara, Istanbul, and Aydın positively.

‘NO CONTACT WITH HEDEP’

On the other hand, it is being discussed in İYİ Party corridors that “how a possible change in decision will be explained to the party base and the voters is another issue that officials are focusing on.”

A high-level İYİ Party official stated, “What the nation wants is important. We will take this into account in our decision.” It was noted that Akşener will listen to the opinions of GİK members before the meeting.

Meanwhile, some officials also stated that the İYİ Party's red line regarding cooperation is that “the CHP must not establish any contact with HEDEP regarding the local elections.”
