İYİ Party reacts to cabinet members: 'The state is rapidly turning into a party-state'

İYİ Party Group Deputy Chairman Müsavat Dervişoğlu made statements at a press conference organized at the İzmir Provincial Headquarters.

Criticizing ministers for participating in election campaigns, Dervişoğlu said, "The state is rapidly turning into a party-state. I am calling out to the government from here; they should keep their hands off the local elections."

"THE FACT THAT THE REGIME IS TURNING INTO A PARTY-STATE..."

Müsavat Dervişoğlu stated the following in his speech:

"Ministers are composed of appointees following the Presidential government system. If they are taking the field on behalf of a party as appointees to conduct political propaganda, it means the regime and the system are turning into a party-state. The state is being used as a tool for elections. This is unacceptable in terms of our democracy. The state is rapidly turning into a party-state. I am calling out to the government from here; they should keep their hands off the local elections."

"THE POLARIZATION CREATED BY CHP AND AKP IS KNOWN TO EVERYONE"

The polarization created by the CHP and AKP in İzmir is known to everyone. We set out as free and independent to liberate our citizens from polarization.

The AKP and CHP never give up on their desire to push İzmir toward polarization.

"İYİ PARTY IS ALSO IN THIS RACE"

Of course, we have respect for all political parties, but no matter what the AKP and CHP do, they have not been able to ensure that this race takes place only between the two parties. The İYİ Party is also in this race. The elections in İzmir are taking place between 3 parties: the AKP, the CHP, and the İYİ Party.

The CHP creates the impression that if our voters vote for another party, they will cause someone to win or lose. We are seeking the votes of the voters of both parties.

"ÖZGÜR ÖZEL SHOULD LOOK AT HIMSELF"

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel has made a habit of visiting İzmir. He has come 4 times so far, and he is apparently coming again. If it were up to me, he should never leave here. He is constantly accusing us, but if it were up to me, he should look at himself. They changed their candidates in 21 of the 24 municipalities they hold. If you are doing this, it means you have not provided the right service to İzmir.

"CHP HAS CONFESSED THAT IT COULD NOT MANAGE İZMİR"

They are also replacing some mayors who have provided good service and have been appreciated by the people of İzmir. This also means disregarding the will of the people of İzmir. You have changed 21 of your 24 mayors. You need to explain why you changed them. In other words, the CHP has either confessed that it could not manage İzmir well, or it has betrayed İzmir due to internal party balances. The people of İzmir will disrupt this game."
