İYİ Party rejects contacts with DEM Party: 'We will never engage with them'

Following the meeting with Öcalan, the DEM Party delegation met yesterday with Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş and MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM).

While the delegation's contacts are set to continue into the new week, a statement came from the İYİ Party. İYİ Party Chairman Müsavat Dervişoğlu announced that they would not meet with the DEM Party delegation.

Dervişoğlu used the following expressions in his statement:

"The betrayal plan, which was first attempted 10 years ago and is now being recirculated under the name of a new paradigm, stands before us as an uprising in which Beştepe, Balgat, and İmralı have joined forces for the continuation of the one-man rule and his government.

They have reached this point through a follow-up of ideas and actions. First, they sidelined the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, the headquarters of the National Struggle; then they handed over the Republic state to the palace; and now, as their final move, they have agreed to divide our unitary administrative structure into ethnic and regional parts.

This is exactly the 'new paradigm' that Bahçeli and Erdoğan are empowering, and which the terrorist leader has promised to contribute to.

The government's attribution of itself to the state, its assumption that it is the entirety of the state, and its imposition of this betrayal as a state project do not eliminate the 'illegitimacy' of this imported scenario. It should not be forgotten that Turkishness is greater than those who think they are the state, today just as it was yesterday.

What this new paradigm seeks to eliminate is our Republic, which the AK Party and DEM consider a 100-year parenthesis. This is the project that the MHP Chairman also applauds with appetite. The goal of the alliance they have formed is Atatürk's Turkey. Its goal is the Turk's state. The issue is this simple and clear.

Their impudence has reached such a point that the blood-stained baby-killer terrorist organization leader is being presented to the great Turkish nation as a dove of peace.

As the İYİ Party, we have nothing to negotiate with the 'enemies of the Republic.'

The İYİ Party will in no way engage with the terrorist organization that seeks to be forgiven, its so-called leader, the spokespersons who want to legitimize them, their partners, and their delegations that have no political responsibility.

The İYİ Party will not be part of any step taken against the expectations of the Turkish nation and the Turkish state, and will not walk the path with those who are. We are not against talking about our problems; we are against negotiating our problems with the source of the problem. We are not against a 'Turkey without terror,' but against the legitimization of terrorist organizations and the terrorist leader.

We will stand tall against the 'dishonorable politics' presented with the packaging of a 'Turkey without terror,' and we will not allow our nation to be deceived once again.

Everyone should be sure that the İYİ Party will continue to position itself on the right side of history. We are aware of our responsibility. We will continue to be the voice of the feelings of our nation, which is watching the process with dignity. The İYİ Party exists to ensure that the fire of the last hearth of Turkishness is not extinguished. The İYİ Party will defend the mind, rights, and law of the Turkish nation to the end, no matter the cost.

Whatever this struggle requires—intellectually, mentally, physically; whoever it is to be fought with—the youth, women, the elderly; wherever it is to be fought—in Parliament, in the squares, in the streets,

The İYİ Party is its roof, its path, and its front. This sacred struggle, which we have started in the bosom of the Turkish nation, hand in hand and shoulder to shoulder with our nation, will be continued with determination forever.

I invite everyone whose passion is Turkey and whose concern is the future of the Turkish nation to meet under the roof of the İYİ Party and contribute to the national struggle. Even if operational apparatuses try to weaken the İYİ Party, which is growing like an avalanche in the conscience of the nation every day, we will not turn back from our path.

We will not de-Turkify Turkey! We will not let the Republic be destroyed! We will lead the Turkish nation and the Turkish state out of this dark tunnel and bring them to bright horizons. I respectfully submit this to the Turkish nation, of which we are soldiers."
