İYİ Party visits AKP following 'Talat Pasha' tension
Following the tensions in the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) over discussions regarding Talat Pasha, İYİ Party Chairman Müsavat Dervişoğlu and a party delegation visited the AKP. The meeting is expected to address the incidents that took place in Parliament.
In recent days, criticisms directed at Talat Pasha by DEM Party Mardin MP George Aslan during legislative proposal discussions in the TBMM General Assembly caused tension. Aslan's statements drew a harsh reaction from the İYİ Party, leading to verbal altercations.
As the tension escalated, Deputy Speaker Tekin Bingöl suspended the session, and after the break, Bingöl requested a censure penalty for İYİ Party Denizli MP Yasin Öztürk.
DERVİŞOĞLU'S REACTION TO CHP
Dervişoğlu, in a statement made after the events, said, "They punished our Denizli MP Mr. Yasin Öztürk with a censure penalty. Here, the DEM, AK Party, and CHP acted in unison. They may all be one, but we are alone for the sake of Turkey's future," while CHP Chairman Özgür Özel responded to Dervişoğlu's remarks, stating, "We all know that the opposition clashing with each other over such issues and responding with harsh language will not please any of us, but rather one person. And that person is the one who oppresses us all. We must leave yesterday in the past. As the CHP, we will continue to maintain our good relations due to the respect we have for the İYİ Party in the coming period."
SURPRISE MEETING
Following the events, a surprise meeting took place. İYİ Party Chairman Müsavat Dervişoğlu visited the AKP along with İYİ Party Balıkesir MP Turhan Çömez and Buğra Kavuncu.
It was learned that the Talat Pasha tension experienced in the TBMM would be discussed during the meeting.
