İYİ Party's alliance pushback against CHP: Should we lose 2028 for your sake?

İYİ Party Group Deputy Chairman Müsavat Dervişoğlu, in his speech at an organization meeting held at a wedding hall by his party's provincial branch in Afyonkarahisar, stated that some circles and some of their own members were claiming that if the Nation Alliance was not renewed, the CHP would lose the municipalities.

"İYİ PARTY IS NO ONE'S APPARATUS"

Stating that the İYİ Party is not an election apparatus established to provide local election success to the CHP, Dervişoğlu continued as follows:

"The İYİ Party was founded to overcome the unfortunate history of this great nation. The people who formed the İYİ Party are courageous Turkish nationalists who believe in the founding philosophy of the great Republic of Turkey established by Atatürk. Anyone can perceive this as they wish. Anyone can draw whatever conclusion they want from what I have said. We are Turkish nationalists. We founded the İYİ Party and are trying to keep it alive with people whose passion and concern is the future of Turkey, the future of the great Turkish nation. Furthermore, we did not just establish the İYİ Party. The nation establishes parties, and the nation keeps them alive. If there is no need, the nation will close it. The İYİ Party is no one's apparatus. It is the party of the great Turkish nation, it is the party established by the Turkish nation. Its goal is to govern the great Turkish nation as the ruling power."

Dervişoğlu also spoke to those who left his party, saying, "If you have left, you have left. I wish you hadn't. I hope your path is clear wherever you go. You go wherever you want. I am here. We are here. Afyonkarahisar is here."

WE ARE CANDIDATES FOR ALL MUNICIPALITIES IN AFYONKARAHİSAR

Stating that there is nothing to say against the will of the nation, Dervişoğlu expressed that they want to have the İYİ Party weighed on the nation's scales, and noted the following:

"We formed an alliance in 2019, we made every kind of sacrifice, and we won the municipalities. CHP mayoral candidates were elected as Nation Alliance candidates. But we lost the election in 2023. The reason we lost this election is that they tried to condemn us politically by associating us with other things. We could not win the 2023 election by forming an alliance despite very favorable conditions. Now they are telling us, let's form an alliance in 2024 as well. What should we do? Should we lose 2028 for your sake? The goal of the İYİ Party in the 2028 elections will be to win the presidency and put an end to this freak system. We set out with this will. For this reason, we are candidates for all 60 municipalities of Afyonkarahisar. We also have a great claim that we will win 20 of them."
