İYİ Party's Çömez accuses CHP leader Özgür Özel of 'political forgery': 'I have one more piece of advice for him...'

İYİ Party Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality Mayoral Candidate Turhan Çömez met with journalists in the Edremit Gulf region following an iftar dinner as part of his election campaign.

Providing information to journalists about his election campaign and projects, Çömez stated that they are working intensively to bring value to Balıkesir.

"SAYING 'I WANT VOTES FROM ANOTHER PARTY' IS..."

Addressing CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, İYİ Party Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality Mayoral Candidate Turhan Çömez said, "I have a message for the CHP Chairman, Mr. Özgür Özel. Mr. Özgür Özel has been saying in Manisa, and in many places he visited before that in Ordu, that he wants votes from İYİ Party members. First of all, this is political forgery. Saying 'I want votes from you' to another party is political forgery and a sign of desperation."

"IT IS A MAJOR WEAKNESS FOR HIS PARTY"

Emphasizing that CHP Chairman Özel should first seek votes from his own party, Çömez said, "Mr. Özgür needs to convince CHP members first. He needs to seek their votes first. After that, I would understand him asking for votes from all parties. But specifically targeting the İYİ Party to ask for votes is, in my opinion, political forgery. I think it is essential that he stops this as soon as possible. Otherwise, the entire public, especially in Balıkesir, will conclude that Mr. Özgür does not trust either his own party or his candidates, which is a major weakness for his candidate and a major weakness for his party."

Stating that Özgür Özel should ask for votes from DEM Party supporters, Turhan Çömez added, "By the way, I have one more piece of advice for him. I think Mr. Özgür should ask for votes from DEM supporters. It is not possible for him to get votes from the 'İyis' (the good ones). He should ask for votes from DEM supporters, and in my opinion, if he does this, he will have drawn a more accurate political roadmap for himself. Let me underline this first."

STATEMENT ON KILIÇDAROĞLU

Addressing former CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who came to Edremit for a private visit and is staying at the same hotel as him, Turhan Çömez said, "This evening, while we were working in the region, Mr. Kılıçdaroğlu came to our hotel. I have not met with him. Of course, I have known Mr. Kılıçdaroğlu for about twenty-five years. We served as members of parliament together during the 22nd term. We have a relationship dating back to that period. He was also the Nation Alliance's presidential candidate in the last general elections. We, of course, supported him, and as you all know, we both embraced him as the Nation Alliance's candidate and provided very serious support in Balıkesir. I suspect Mr. Kılıçdaroğlu came to reciprocate this support of ours and to announce his support for me. That is my expectation. Let's wait and see."
