Joint statement on Gaza from the foreign ministers of Turkey and 7 other countries

The Foreign Ministers of the Republic of Turkey, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, the Republic of Indonesia, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the State of Qatar, and the Arab Republic of Egypt have issued a written statement regarding the initiation of negotiations in Gaza.

In their written statement, the ministers expressed their satisfaction with the cessation of bombardments and the commencement of the implementation of a prisoner exchange agreement, stating the following:

"They have welcomed the steps taken today by Hamas regarding the proposal of US President Donald Trump to immediately begin negotiations on ending the war in Gaza, the release of all hostages—whether alive or deceased—and the implementation mechanisms."

The Foreign Ministers also welcomed US President Trump’s call for Israel to immediately halt bombardments and begin implementing the exchange agreement, and expressed their appreciation for his determination to establish regional peace.

The ministers emphasized that these developments represent a genuine opportunity to reach a comprehensive and sustainable ceasefire and to address the dire humanitarian conditions facing the people in the Gaza Strip. The Foreign Ministers also welcomed Hamas's announcement of its readiness to transfer the administration of Gaza to a temporary Palestinian Administrative Committee composed of independent technocrats.

They pointed to the importance of immediately launching negotiations to reach an agreement on the mechanisms for implementing the proposal and to address all elements of the plan in question. The Foreign Ministers reiterated their joint commitment to supporting efforts toward the implementation of the proposal; to the immediate end of the war in Gaza; to ensuring the uninterrupted delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza; to preventing the displacement of Palestinians; to ensuring that no measures are taken that threaten the safety and security of civilians; to the release of hostages; to the return of the Palestinian Authority to Gaza; to reaching a comprehensive agreement that will ensure the unification of Gaza and the West Bank; to the establishment of a security mechanism that will guarantee the safety of all parties; and, in this regard, to the full withdrawal of Israel, the reconstruction of Gaza, and the creation of a path toward a just peace based on a two-state solution."
