Kılıçdaroğlu criticizes operations against CHP municipalities

Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, the former chairman of the Republican People's Party (CHP), stated in a post on his social media account that the operations against CHP-run municipalities harm justice and democracy. Kılıçdaroğlu expressed his hope that the detained mayors, including the mayors of Adana, Antalya, and Adıyaman, as well as the former mayor of İzmir and the İzmir provincial chairman, would be released as soon as possible.

In his message, Kılıçdaroğlu included the following statements: "You rise with justice and fairness; you decay with oppression and tyranny. Do not be afraid. Do not fall apart. Do not fall into despair. As the end of the tyrant approaches, their oppression increases!"

Emphasizing the CHP's understanding of clean politics, Kılıçdaroğlu stated that the party is committed to the principles of accountability and transparency. Acknowledging that mayors and their staff may be subject to investigations, Kılıçdaroğlu argued that these processes must be conducted fairly.

"If a process is to be carried out based on the testimonies of the 'gang of five' and contractors enriched by the AKP, then not only our CHP municipalities but all municipalities that cause public loss, regardless of party affiliation, must be investigated with fairness," he said.

Expressing his feelings of solidarity, Kılıçdaroğlu said, "I stand with all our populist, public-oriented, and honest mayors and our party staff." He also reiterated his belief that the detained mayors would regain their freedom and return to their duties, and stated that they would continue their struggle to achieve democracy and justice.
