Kılıçdaroğlu holds special meeting for alliance in Istanbul

CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu met with organization managers from the parties that make up the Table of Six in three separate meetings during his visit to Istanbul. While statements that the "alliance is over" were coming from party headquarters in Ankara, this move by Kılıçdaroğlu was interpreted as a "search for an alliance at the grassroots level."

CHP Deputy Chairman Ahmet Akın, Istanbul Provincial Chairman Özgür Çelik, and CHP member Gürsel Tekin also attended the meeting. It was learned that the meeting took place upon the request of the other parties. The provincial and district managers and prominent figures in the organization who attended the meeting were kept confidential.

According to the report by Başak Kaya from Sözcü, Kılıçdaroğlu stated during the meeting that he aims to "establish an alliance at the ballot box and at the grassroots level."

"YOU ARE BEING TREATED UNFAIRLY"

It was learned that the individuals who attended the meeting told Kılıçdaroğlu, "The alliance must continue, and the demands from the citizens are in this direction. You did everything you could; you are being treated unfairly." Kılıçdaroğlu thanked the participants for their efforts to ensure the continuation of the alliance. He emphasized that there is no province that cannot be won with the right alliance and the right candidates.

CHP member Gürsel Tekin said the following regarding the meeting:

"There is already an unstoppable alliance at the grassroots level. Citizens look at what is happening in their own homes and neighborhoods more than what is being said in Ankara. The parties' representatives and managers in the provinces see this best. I can say that they themselves requested the meeting with Kılıçdaroğlu. The main topic of this 'people's table' meeting was Istanbul. In summary, very good things will happen in Istanbul, and we will see this in the elections."
