Kılıçdaroğlu speaks of a convention 'process', CHP deputies demand a date

Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who was brought to the chairmanship of the Republican People's Party (CHP) by a court decision, made a statement about the convention on his social media account. Kılıçdaroğlu stated, "We are initiating our convention process with our first Party Assembly meeting to be held on Thursday, June 11. I invite our entire organization to be of one heart at our group meeting tomorrow, and to unite with common sense and the bond of comradeship."

While this statement by Kılıçdaroğlu caused controversy, CHP Sivas Deputy Ulaş Karasu reacted.

Karasu quoted Kılıçdaroğlu's message regarding the convention process and expressed the expectations of the party base.

Karasu stated, "Give us a date, not a process! We are waiting for a convention without any 'buts' or 'ifs,' without wasting time. Those who do not run away from the convention, but those who uphold the will of the people, will win! The trustee will go, the will of the people will prevail!"
