Kılıçdaroğlu targets CHP's Adnan Beker: 'What is he doing there?'

Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu made statements regarding the current agenda during a press conference held for the Eid al-Adha holiday. Addressing the ongoing convention process in the CHP and internal party debates, Kılıçdaroğlu openly criticized Ankara MP Adnan Beker and reacted to his presence in the party.

Regarding Adnan Beker, who switched from the IYI Party to the CHP last year, Kılıçdaroğlu drew attention with the words, "What is a person with moral issues doing in the CHP?"

The CHP leader claimed that Beker's campaign bus played a role in the incidents in front of the party headquarters and that he exhibited behaviors that would harm the party's integrity. Kılıçdaroğlu further stated that he could not accept Beker's declaration that he did not vote for him in the presidential elections.

The following statements stood out in Kılıçdaroğlu's remarks:

"What is Adnan Beker's bus doing there? Use some common sense. What are they doing there? Most of them are not party members. Are they there to throw stones or cause trouble? To hurt the CHP? How can they trust these people, how can they let them into the party? What is a person with moral issues doing at the CHP Headquarters! It is unacceptable for a person who says they did not vote for me in the presidential election to be there! If you follow their logic, this is the picture that emerges."

Adnan Beker, who was elected as an MP from the IYI Party in the past and joined the CHP in March 2025, had previously caused controversy within the party with his statement in a television program: "I did not vote on May 14, and I voted for Mr. Tayyip on May 28. I did not vote for Mr. Kemal." In his assessment of the 2023 election results, Beker had summarized the atmosphere on election night with the words: "It was like a funeral home, everyone was very sad. Ms. Meral was also very upset. I was the only one who wasn't sad."

Kılıçdaroğlu's latest statements have brought the signs of unrest and the struggle for power within the party back to the agenda.
