Kılıçdaroğlu to convene party leadership on Tuesday: Group meeting decision

Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who returned to the chairmanship of the Republican People's Party (CHP) following a court ruling, has decided to convene the party's two highest-level bodies, the Central Executive Board (MYK) and the Party Assembly (PM), on Tuesday, June 23. The meetings will begin with the MYK, scheduled to start at 11:00 AM, followed by the PM at 2:00 PM.

According to information from party sources, no party group meeting will be held at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) this week. It was stated that Kılıçdaroğlu decided not to apply to hold a group meeting in Parliament due to the busy agenda on Tuesday.

The main agenda items for the meetings include recent developments within the party. It was learned that Kılıçdaroğlu is expected to evaluate the current political landscape in his opening remarks and discuss the status of provincial disciplinary boards.

In the CHP, where a group meeting was not held last week either, the reasons behind this practice were cited as an effort to maintain unity within the party. Müslim Sarı, a spokesperson for the Kılıçdaroğlu administration, explained the decision taken the previous week with the words: "In order to protect the unity of the Republican People's Party and to prevent the formation of grounds for new divisions and tensions, our chairman, Mr. Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, has decided not to hold the group meeting planned for tomorrow at the TBMM."

CHP Group Deputy Chairman Murat Emir also shared last week that the CHP leadership had not submitted an application to hold a group meeting, and expressed their satisfaction with this situation.
