Kılıçdaroğlu files criminal complaint against Nevşin Mengü and Emrah Gülsunar
Debates over the CHP convention have taken a new turn. Former Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu has filed a criminal complaint with the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office against journalist Nevşin Mengü and academic Emrah Gülsunar, citing defamation and slander.
Debates over the convention within the CHP continue to intensify. Journalist Nevşin Mengü had also made a statement regarding the issue, which sees new allegations emerge every day. Following these events, former CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu filed a criminal complaint with the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office against journalist Nevşin Mengü and academic Dr. Emrah Gülsunar.
THEIR STATEMENTS HAD BECOME A TOPIC OF DISCUSSION
Following the postponement of the lawsuit filed for the cancellation of the CHP's 38th Ordinary Convention and 21st Extraordinary Convention to June 30, former CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu filed a criminal complaint against journalist Nevşin Mengü and academic Emrah Gülsunar, who had made notable statements regarding the process.
According to a report by Murat Beyaz from Gerçek Gündem, Kılıçdaroğlu's lawyer, Celal Çelik, filed a petition with the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office two days ago, accusing Mengü and Gülsunar of "defamation" and "slander".

WHAT HAD HAPPENED?
The second hearing of the lawsuit regarding the cancellation of the CHP's 38th Ordinary Convention and 21st Extraordinary Convention was held on May 26. The court recorded in the minutes that the essence of the case was the determination and cancellation of the convention held on November 4-5, 2023, on the grounds that it was null and void, and that it was flawed due to absolute nullity, as well as the removal of Özgür Özel and the members of the Central Executive Board (MYK) and Party Assembly (PM) from office, and the reinstatement of Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu and the previous PM members.
POSTPONED TO JUNE 30
While the 3rd hearing of the case in question was postponed to June 30, journalist Nevşin Mengü made striking allegations regarding Kılıçdaroğlu and the legal process following the decision.

MENGÜ: KILIÇDAROĞLU DOES NOT WANT TO TESTIFY
The allegation Mengü expressed on her YouTube channel was as follows;
"The prosecutor summoned him to testify, but Kemal Bey did not go. Some interpreted this as, 'Kemal Bey does not want to testify as a victim, to protect the party,' but what I understand is the exact opposite. The information I received from very reliable sources in Ankara is that the prosecutor conveyed this message: 'If Kemal Bey comes, testifies here, and says, "How can that be? Could there be corruption in the CHP? I was the chairman at the time, such a thing did not happen at the convention I organized. I do not accept this," then we will close this file,' the prosecutor said. Such a message was sent, but Kılıçdaroğlu still did not go to testify."
ACTION TAKEN AGAINST EMRAH GÜLSUNAR
On the other hand, Kılıçdaroğlu also filed a complaint against academic and author Dr. Emrah Gülsunar, alleging that he used expressions that 'amounted to defamation' against him.

WHAT DID GÜLSUNAR SAY?
Quoting the video containing Mengü's allegations regarding Kılıçdaroğlu, Gülsunar had used the following expressions:
"This is the end of the line. For a person to knowingly try to take back the chairmanship they lost through the regime's unlawful judicial operation is a clear dishonor and lack of integrity. This person should be expelled from the party and spat in the face everywhere."
