Kılıçdaroğlu's visits to İmamoğlu stir up political corridors as CHP heads toward convention

The Republican People's Party (CHP) has entered an intensive preparation process ahead of the convention it will hold on April 6. Former Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu's two visits to Ekrem İmamoğlu, who is being held in Silivri Prison, have caused a major stir in party corridors. It is stated that Kılıçdaroğlu's only condition for candidacy is obtaining the signatures of 600-700 delegates.

According to a report by Başak Kaya from Sözcü, demands for change within the party and voices criticizing the current administration are being voiced by figures close to Kılıçdaroğlu.

ÖZEL TO MAKE RADICAL CHANGES IN THE PM

A new Party Assembly (PM) will be elected at the convention, and the party administration will be determined afterward. It is stated that CHP leader Özgür Özel plans to make radical changes to the 60-person PM list and is of the opinion that the administration that will lead the party to elections should consist of experienced names.

THE THREAT OF A TRUSTEE REMAINS

The investigation launched by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office into allegations that "votes were cast in exchange for money" at the CHP's 38th Ordinary Convention is ongoing. If a trustee is appointed, a three-person commission to be selected from within the party will take the CHP to a convention within 45 days at the latest.

Kılıçdaroğlu is expected to go to Silivri for the third time today to meet with Ekrem İmamoğlu. These visits are thought to influence the Party Assembly lists. Some segments within the party are criticizing the normalization process and arguing that experienced names should be brought into the administration.
