Lawyer for İmamoğlu's attorney released

Yiğit Gökçehan Koçoğlu, the lawyer for Mehmet Pehlivan—who is the attorney for Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, who was removed from office and arrested—was referred to court with a request for his arrest. Yesterday, the lawyers for Murat Ongun, the General Manager of Medya AŞ who is currently detained in the İBB investigation, were also taken into custody and released under judicial control.

Regarding the detention of his lawyer, Mehmet Pehlivan, the attorney for İmamoğlu, stated: "I learned that there was a detention warrant for my lawyer, Yiğit Gökçehan Koçoğlu. He is currently in Adıyaman. He is representing 35 families and victims who lost their children in the Isias Hotel during the February 6 earthquakes. Yiğit was my lawyer yesterday. Today, he is the lawyer for families who lost their children in the earthquake. Tomorrow, he will continue to be the lawyer for anyone seeking justice. When he learned of the detention warrant against him, he did not flee, he did not hide, and he was not afraid. He went to the courthouse to represent the families who lost their children. RELEASED

Yiğit Gökçehan Koçoğlu, the lawyer for Ekrem İmamoğlu's attorney, had been referred to the Criminal Judgeship of Peace with a request for his arrest. Koçoğlu was released under judicial control conditions, including a travel ban.
