Letter from Ekrem İmamoğlu to MPs and a 35-page 'setup' booklet

Every piece of content we share from our Presidential Candidate Office's social media accounts is an indicator of the kind of country we want to live in and our approach to governance.

-For this reason, my request to you is that you follow our posts closely, disseminate them on every platform your hand and heart touch, and bring our vision to our citizens. It is of vital importance that our voice reaches every household and touches hearts so that our people can say, 'Turkey's salvation lies in the competent and combative cadres of the CHP.'

-Our strongest response to those who try to stop us with unlawful investigations, arrests, diploma cancellations, slanders, pressure, and intimidation will be our unity, our solidarity, and our determination.

-I expect you to add your voice to the voice of our Presidential Candidate Office and your strength to its strength against those who try to silence us.

-The more our solidarity grows, the more visible our nation's will for change will become, and our dream of crowning the second century of our Republic with law, justice, and democracy will be that much closer.

DETAILS OF THE "IMM SETUP CASE" BOOKLET

The 35-page "IMM Setup Case" booklet sent by İmamoğlu addresses the process that began with his victory in the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) mayoral elections on March 31, 2019. The booklet recalls that the Supreme Election Council (YSK) decided to repeat the elections on May 6, 2019, and that the elections were held again on June 23, 2019.

While the 2019-2025 period is referred to as the "Legal Proceedings Process," the lawsuits and investigations opened against İmamoğlu during this period are detailed. It is stated that while only one investigation permit was granted between 2014 and 2018, 40 preliminary investigations and 6 investigations were conducted against İmamoğlu between 2019 and 2025. Furthermore, information was provided that the number of investigation files targeting the IMM reached 1,389 in the period after 2019.

In the conclusion section of the booklet, it is emphasized that the IMM investigation is a pressure operation against the rule of law and democratic rights.
