Following the detentions and operations carried out against CHP-run municipalities such as Adana, Adıyaman, Antalya, and Büyükçekmece, all eyes have turned to Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş. Responding to journalists' questions on the subject, Yavaş gave clear messages regarding a possible operation that could be conducted against both himself and his municipality.

"WE HAVE NO INTENTION OF STAINING OUR SPOTLESS REPUTATION"

Emphasizing that they have maintained the municipal administration with a transparent and accountable approach since the day they took office, Yavaş said:

"We broadcast all our tenders in the municipality live. To date, 5 thousand tenders have been broadcast on YouTube. Someone else doing something wrong in the past does not mean that we will do something wrong. We have no intention of staining our spotless reputation. Our conscience is clear. We have nothing to fear."

"THE FATE OF THOSE WHO SLANDER IS CLEAR"

Referring to the allegations made against him in the past, Yavaş used the following expressions:

"Whatever happened to those who made such slanders before will happen again. The public will hold them accountable for this. If you summon people to testify with the threat of arrest, slander also begins at some point. But we are not afraid. Because we have nothing to hide."

Evaluating the detention of Adana Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Zeydan Karalar, Yavaş drew attention to the timing of the operation and continued his words as follows: 

"Zeydan Karalar was detained due to an incident at the Seyhan Municipality. Is someone who has not tampered with evidence for seven years going to tamper with evidence now? Such political moves have always backfired in the eyes of the public. This has also been reflected in election results. The public stands with the one who is victimized."
