Mansur Yavaş corrects that report: 'I have no such statement'
Following a critical meeting with former CHP leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş stated 'I have no such statement' regarding the Sözcü newspaper headline claiming, 'I will not meet with Kılıçdaroğlu after this point.'
Developments on the eve of the lawsuit filed regarding the CHP convention have increased internal tensions within the party. Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who is alleged to be aiming to return to the party via a court decision, had stated that he would recognize the judicial process, saying, "I will not leave my party to a trustee."
YAVAŞ AND SEÇER MET WITH KILIÇDAROĞLU
A CHP delegation consisting of Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş, Mersin Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Vahap Seçer, and former Group Deputy Chairman Engin Özkoç visited Kılıçdaroğlu. During the meeting, it became clear that Kılıçdaroğlu would not make a statement supporting the party leadership.
YAVAŞ'S INTERVIEW BECAME A TOPIC OF DISCUSSION
Following the meeting, Mansur Yavaş used notable expressions in an interview he gave to journalist Ünsal Ünlü. Yavaş said he did not expect this stance from Kılıçdaroğlu and implied that the process had reached a political impasse by saying, "Everything was discussed openly. There will be no further meetings."
Sözcü newspaper reported Yavaş's statements under the headline, "I will not meet with Kılıçdaroğlu after this point." However, Yavaş stated that these words did not belong to him.
