Mardin knot untied in DEM Party: Ahmet Türk to be the candidate
It has been stated that Ahmet Türk, who had withdrawn his candidacy after failing to pass the 50+1 percent vote threshold in the primary election despite coming out on top as a candidate for the DEM Party's Mardin Metropolitan Municipality, will be announced as the party's Mardin candidate today.
Ahmet Türk, who was a DEM Party candidate for Mardin Metropolitan Municipality, had previously withdrawn from the race.
According to the report by Ferit Aslan from Medyascope; following Türk's decision to withdraw from the candidacy and leave active politics, the DEM Party took steps to persuade the experienced politician to reverse his decision.
It was learned that after this decision, there was significant pressure on Türk not to withdraw from the candidacy or leave active politics, and the DEM Party held meetings to resolve the issue.
The meetings held and the pressure on Ahmet Türk to return yielded results. With the withdrawal of Azad Yıldırım, the candidate who received the most votes after Türk, Türk will be announced as the Mardin Metropolitan Municipality mayoral candidate today. A candidate introduction meeting will be held for Türk in Mardin.
