Mass resignation earthquake in İYİ Party: They joined the CHP

Resignations in the İYİ Party show no signs of stopping.

Most recently, 40 people resigned from the İYİ Party's Bakırköy District Organization. Among those who resigned were District President Çağlar Derin, District Accountant Ömer Acar, Organization President Bilgehan Selimoğlu, Deputy District President for Women's Policies Hediye Soyyiğit, and Youth Branch President Yiğit Efe Yöndem.

THEY JOINED THE CHP

The 40 people who resigned joined the CHP. A ceremony was held for the new members at the CHP Bakırköy District Headquarters. The badges of the new members were pinned by CHP Istanbul Provincial President Özgür Çelik and CHP Bakırköy District President Gizem Başaran Arslan.

"OUR GOAL AND STRUGGLE WERE COMMON"

Özgür Çelik said the following in his speech there:

“Everyone who has managed to stand side by side in some form since the 2017 referendum achieved results in the 2023 elections. In this respect, even though we have engaged in politics in different political parties, our goal and our struggle were actually common. To achieve success in local governments together in 2024, to sow the seeds of hope in these lands again, and to wage Turkey's struggle for democracy together again, perhaps with an early election or in 2028. Making our Republic a democratic republic again was our common struggle. Even though we were in separate fields, today we will continue the struggle together. I thank my esteemed president and his delegation, and I say welcome. I wish you success on your path.”

"A STORY OF RETURNING HOME"

Gizem Başaran Arslan also said, “We formed a beautiful alliance in 2023; even though the result was not what we wanted, we gained beautiful friendships. The point we have reached today is that, despite being in an alliance under two different party roofs that day, today we will engage in politics under a single roof, in the CHP, which was founded by the country's founder and savior Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. Our friends, including my esteemed District President Çağlar Bey, are joining the CHP. I call this a story of returning home. The CHP is the party of our ancestors. Therefore, I say welcome to all our friends who have joined the CHP.”
