Mass resignation from İYİ Party in Selçuk

In İzmir's Selçuk district, over 100 İYİ Party members, including former Provincial Vice Chair Levent Görür, District Chair Deniz Kayapınar, and board members, have resigned and announced that they will support the CHP candidate, Mayor Filiz Ceritoğlu Sengel, in the elections.

Mass resignation from İYİ Party in Selçuk

A resignation earthquake has hit the İYİ Party in Selçuk. Over 100 party members, including former Provincial Vice Chair Levent Görür, İYİ Party District Chair Deniz Kayapınar, and board members, have submitted their collective resignations.

Making a statement alongside the resigning members, former İYİ Party Provincial Vice Chair Levent Görür said, "I have decided to personally support CHP candidate Ms. Filiz Ceritoğlu Sengel, whose work I admire, who has been serving as mayor for 5 years, and whose name has recently been seriously mentioned for the metropolitan mayoral candidacy."

"I HAVE RESIGNED FROM THE DISTRICT CHAIRPERSONSHIP AND MEMBERSHIP"

Stating that he has been in the İYİ Party since 2019, has served in various positions, and has been serving as the İYİ Party District Chair for about 2 years, Deniz Kayapınar said, "We have carried out the necessary work for the strengthening, development, and growth of the İYİ Party.

We have registered many people as members of our party. However, at the point reached, as a result of the developments within the party, I have decided to resign from the İYİ Party. I have resigned from both the district chairpersonship and my membership," he said.

Stating that they have been consulting with the friends and members who resigned in Selçuk regarding the upcoming period in the local election process, Kayapınar said, "We have decided to support the Republican People's Party in Selçuk, that is, Mayor Filiz. Our friends' views are also in this direction," he said.
