Mehmet Metiner: Change in AK Party started from the top

Reform discussions within the AKP, which was unsuccessful in the March 31 Local Elections, have stirred up the political corridors in Ankara.

AKP Deputy Chairman Efkan Ala had signaled that there were preparations for reform within the party.

It was also claimed that Erdoğan's approval for reform was obtained during the AKP's Kızılcahamam camp.

Former AKP deputy Mehmet Metiner stated that change must begin from the top. Although it is unclear who Metiner is referring to at the top, it shows that the waters have not yet calmed within the AKP.

Metiner noted the following in his post:

"Change in the AKP must also start from the top. Without change at the top, no change made at the bottom will be a remedy. Therefore, organizational changes at the bottom to be made before the congress where the headquarters management will be determined will result in nothing more than paving the way for new resentments or drifts."
