Mehmet Metiner to Erdoğan: 'If he knows who is tired, why doesn't he set them aside?'

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan gave important messages regarding the party during the 23rd anniversary celebration of the AKP, of which he is the chairman. 

In the AKP, which placed second in an election for the first time since its founding, Erdoğan's statements during the celebrations, which took place in the shadow of 'change' debates, drew attention.

THE PRICE FOR THIS IS HEAVY

In his speech addressing party members, Erdoğan stated, "If there is anyone who feels tired, if there is anyone who feels exhausted, we want them to step aside and take a breather. Those who have lost their excitement should not be an obstacle to serving the nation. The burden of this is heavy. The price for this is heavy."

'WHO WAS THE PRESIDENT ADDRESSING WITH THAT STATEMENT?'

While these statements led to various interpretations within the party, comments also came from former executives and MPs. Former AKP MP Mehmet Metiner, who has recently been critical of certain groups within the AKP, drew attention to Erdoğan's words and said, "The President said, 'Those who are tired should step aside.' But there is no one saying they are tired, President! Since no one has stepped aside, it means no one is tired. Then why did the President say this, and who was he saying it to?"

Mehmet Metiner continued his remarks as follows: "The crucial question is this: If the President knows who is tired, or even who is a burden to him and his cause, then why doesn't he take them and set them aside?"
