Meral Akşener shares all the details regarding the 'Table of Six'

Upon a citizen asking about "the developments that took place at the Table of Six before the presidential elections," Akşener spoke as follows:

"My friend, we are sitting as 6 people, our topic is this: we sat down that day to discuss the method by which the candidate would be selected. We looked and saw that the candidate's name was being discussed. I objected to this, I said, 'We were going to discuss the candidate selection method. For that reason, I don't want to hurt anyone.' As a result, 5 of our friends mentioned Mr. Kemal. I mentioned the 2 people you wanted, and I said, 'Okay, let Mr. Kemal's name be there, if there are others, let them be there, and let the names of these two friends of ours be there as well.'"

Explaining that she suggested conducting research and abiding by the result, Akşener said, "I said, 'Let's stand behind whoever the average is, and let's not object. This is a process of at most one week.' I was told there—Ali Babacan mentioned this the other day too—'If you don't want it, let us sign as 5 people, you can leave.'

Therefore, I said 'okay.' At that time, both Ali Babacan and Mr. Davutoğlu said, 'No, no.' Meaning, 'Don't tear it down.' After that, I returned to discuss this issue with my friends and to obtain authorization. Everything I do is open; I can't do secret work anyway, it comes out," she said.

Expressing that after these developments, her friends asked her not to sit at the table again, Akşener noted the following:

"Then at night, both İmamoğlu and Mr. Mansur Yavaş came to my house at 02:15. I asked both of them for the last time, 'Can you be a candidate? Can you be a candidate?' They said 'No.' Upon this, a proposal was made. That proposal is this: normally, none of the party chairs would be there. Meaning, both of them would be vice presidents. This was a very appropriate thing. The probability of winning with this was high.

Then we wrote a paper, not in secret. I came back and gathered my friends, I read the text we prepared together to my friends.

I asked those two mayor friends, 'Is Mr. Kemal aware of this?' They said, 'Yes.' When I read that text, except for 3 people, my friends said, 'Return to the table.' Now look at my state here, pity me too. Then we went back to the hotel, the two mayors, me, and Mr. Kemal said 'Okay' face to face.

Upon this, we went to the table, I thought we were going to sign the paper, first one friend, then Mr. Babacan said, 'We are not aware of this.' I thought the table was aware. After that, you could say to me here, 'Did you just come to your senses?' This is the place I question regarding myself."

Akşener concluded her explanation on the subject by hitting her hand to her head, saying, "I feel like doing this gesture to myself."

"THERE IS NO RESULT FROM OUR EFFORTS"

Reminding that they won 44 seats in the 28th Term Parliamentary General Elections, Akşener said, "Are we successful? No, but are we dead? No, that either. We are not dead, we are continuing, but we are not successful. Let's speak with this clarity."

Meral Akşener continued as follows:

"However, there is such a situation. The part about whether the AK Party wins or not is separate, but we took a proposal to the CHP in 2019 to defeat the AK Party. In fact, my Minister (Koray Aydın), I got an appointment from Mr. Kemal, they met secretly, we were the ones who brought the proposal. Our goal was Istanbul and Ankara. Because when Istanbul and Ankara were taken, we would win the Presidency in 2023 and eliminate this strange, bizarre system. When we came to 2023, we saw that there is no result from our efforts.

'Whoever takes Istanbul takes Turkey,' Tayyip Bey used to say, and indeed it had been so. Under normal conditions, it was going to be like that for us too. The question is this: we took two municipalities, both of them truly won the favor of everyone living in Turkey. Now, the nation wanted it, not me. Like every citizen and every servant, I want that duty, I want you to want me. But you wanted them. Did it happen? It didn't.

Now, it means that constantly helping someone does not cause this system to change. Constantly we, support and support, the result is Mr. Erdoğan is sitting in the Presidency, the AK Party is sitting there. That is what I am talking about. If we can explain this to each other correctly, Turkey wins from this. The issue is not us."
