President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, in a video message sent to the AKP's 8th Ordinary Provincial and District Congresses, stated that they have continued on their path with the same excitement since the date his party was founded on August 14, 2001.

Erdoğan said, "Without deviating from truthfulness, honesty, and sincerity, and without compromising the trust placed in us by the nation, we continue to work for all of Turkey, for every single one of our 85 million citizens. As a team, we have overcome many difficulties together, faced many obstacles, weathered many storms, and repelled many attacks." he said.

Emphasizing that their politics is "a politics of works and service," Erdoğan stated that listening to the voice of the nation lies at the foundation of this approach. "This is how we have succeeded in being the hope of the nation and the address for solutions to the nation's problems for 23 years," said Erdoğan, noting that he views the AKP's congress process as an opportunity to strengthen these bonds.
