It has been learned that former HDP Co-Chair Selahattin Demirtaş, who is imprisoned in Edirne Prison, said, “Those who do not take the expectations and demands of the DEM Party into account will lose.”
Former HDP Co-Chair Selahattin Demirtaş, who announced on May 31 that he was leaving active politics and is currently imprisoned in Edirne Prison, has made an assessment regarding the upcoming local elections.
According to information obtained by Medyascope reporter Ferit Aslan; Demirtaş emphasized that one should not make a decision regarding the local elections without seeing the intentions and approaches of all parties, and it was reported that he said, “We want to see how the DEM Party and we are being approached.”
“IF WE ARE IN PRISON, OUR STANCE WILL BE CLEAR"
Stating that their stance would be clear if they were in prison during the elections, Demirtaş anticipates that his party's attitude will be shaped accordingly. It was stated that Demirtaş said, “Those who do not take the expectations and demands of the DEM Party into account will lose.”
While it was reported that Demirtaş would act in concert with his party, it was noted that the DEM Party would seek the opinions of all party members currently held in prisons before finalizing its decision for the local elections.
