MHP and DEM Party exchange Eid greetings
The Eid al-Fitr greeting programs for political parties have been announced. This year, for the first time in a long while, the AKP and MHP will exchange greetings with the DEM Party. The MHP and DEM Party held their greeting session in accordance with the program.
Following the process initiated by MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli's call to terrorist leader Abdullah Öcalan, the DEM Party and MHP delegations, which have already held two meetings, met this time for the Eid greeting program. An MHP delegation visited the DEM Party, while a DEM Party delegation visited the MHP Headquarters. MHP's İsmet Büyükataman stated, "We will experience together the days when resentments and grievances are resolved, the doors of friendship are reopened, and the law of brotherhood is reinforced once again."
The MHP delegation paid an Eid visit to the DEM Party. MHP's İsmet Büyükataman said, "Today is a holiday, a day when friendship and brotherhood prevail. As the MHP, we have significantly widened the spectrum this holiday with the appreciation and discretion of our Chairman."
Büyükataman used the following expressions:
"As you know, the CHP announced that it canceled its greeting program and is holding a separate program in Istanbul. Apart from that, we desire to exchange greetings with all political parties if fate permits. In that framework, we are visiting the DEM Party.
We hope to celebrate the holiday in the spirit of a holiday. We will experience together the days when resentments and grievances are resolved, the doors of friendship are reopened, and the law of brotherhood is reinforced once again. Thank you for receiving us. In the meantime, I would like to convey the greetings and holiday wishes of our Chairman."
WHO IS IN THE RECEPTION DELEGATION?
The MHP's reception delegation consisted of Deputy Chairman Zühal Topcu, Politics and Leadership School Coordinator and Central Executive Board (MYK) Member Turan Şahin, and MYK Member Özmen Alp Giray Erdemir.
In the greeting visits held with other political parties, Secretary General İsmet Büyükataman, Chief Advisor to the Chairman and MYK Member Esma Özdaşlı, and MYK Member Şahin Kartal took part.
The greeting traffic at the MHP began at 09:00 with the visit of the Democratic Left Party (DSP) delegation. Subsequently, greetings continued with the Felicity Party (Saadet Partisi), DEVA Party, Future Party (Gelecek Partisi), and the Great Unity Party (Büyük Birlik Partisi). At the same hours, the MHP delegation also paid reciprocal visits to these parties.
DEM PARTY'S EID VISITS TO POLITICAL PARTIES
The DEM Party also carried out its greeting visits to political parties on the second day of Eid al-Fitr. The party's greeting delegation included Spokesperson Ayşegül Doğan, Hakkari MP Onur Düşünmez, and Peoples and Beliefs Commission Member Zeyno Bayramoğlu.
Among the parties visited by the DEM Party are the AKP, MHP, Future Party, Felicity Party, and DEVA Party.
REFERENCE TO İMAMOĞLU
DEM Party Deputy Co-Chair Öztürk Türkdoğan said, "Greeting is also about reuniting. I would like to make a few wishes. First of all, I wish for our friends, citizens, friends, and elected politicians who are deprived of their freedom to regain their freedom as soon as possible."
Türkdoğan used the following expressions:
Especially the fact that our student friends have been deprived of their freedom in this recent period causes us to experience a bittersweet holiday. We hope this comes to an end.
As a requirement of our Call for Peace and Democratic Society, we can all build a new Turkey and an honorable peace. We want this Turkey that we will build to also be a democratic Turkey. In democracy, it will be a regime where the will of the people is respected.
We would also like to see the days when the will of the people is respected, where the will of the people is manifested.
MHP'S RESPONSE TO THE REFERENCE TO İMAMOĞLU PROTESTS
Following the statements of DEM Party's Türkdoğan, Büyükataman said, "I certainly join in the well-intentioned wishes you have expressed. Turkey is a country governed by democracy. It is the most natural right of our people to express their democratic reactions within the framework of laws and the constitution. One should not overstep the mark. We do not find it right for it to evolve into something that could target the peace of society. As Turkey, we have all experienced painful experiences together. We must definitely be able to express our reaction, with responsible behavior."
Büyükataman noted the following:
I also find the call made by your party in the face of the CHP's call inviting citizens to the streets to be important and meaningful. Everyone living in this country should be able to express their democratic reaction when necessary. Within the framework of laws and the constitution.
"WE STAND WITH THOSE WHO STRUGGLE FOR DEMOCRACY"
Türkdoğan also said, "Our party has a very serious left and socialist tradition. We are always with the democracy forces of Turkey. Of course, first of all, this country needs peace. We are a party that takes responsibility in terms of ensuring this peace. We are always with our peoples, and we are also with those who carry out the struggle for democracy."
