MHP comments on Erdoğan-Trump meeting
MHP Deputy Group Chairman Erkan Akçay stated that they expect the meetings President Erdoğan will hold with US President Donald Trump to contribute positively to Turkey's role in ensuring peace and stability in the region. Akçay emphasized that the meetings would also contribute to the "Terror-Free Turkey" process.
Visiting the Manisa Journalists Association, MHP Deputy Group Chairman and Manisa MP Erkan Akçay made important statements regarding the meetings President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will hold with US President Donald Trump.
Akçay stated that the leading role Turkey plays for regional peace and stability will be further strengthened by these meetings.
MEETINGS SHOULD SUPPORT TURKEY'S LEADING ROLE
Expressing his belief that the meetings between Erdoğan and Trump will yield positive results for both countries, Akçay said, "We believe that this visit and meeting will make it possible for Turkey to be more hopeful for the coming days and years. It is certain that the agreements to be made will be in the interest of both countries." Furthermore, stating that these meetings should support the peace and stability Turkey provides in the region, he added, "In this respect, we are hopeful."
CONTRIBUTION TO THE "TERROR-FREE TURKEY" PROCESS
Akçay expressed his belief that the Erdoğan-Trump meeting would also make a significant contribution to the "Terror-Free Turkey" process. MHP's Akçay said that increasing cooperation with the US regarding Turkey's fight against terrorism and security policies is of critical importance.
