MHP joins the by-election debate!

Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) Group Deputy Chairman Filiz Kılıç announced that her party's priority is to create a Turkey free of terrorism before any elections.

Kılıç evaluated the priority issues on the MHP's agenda and recent developments during a press conference she held at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM).

"TURKEY'S SECURITY IS THE MOST IMPORTANT"

Stating that her party's main agenda item is a "Terror-Free Turkey," Kılıç said, "This is our primary agenda. We are truly racking our brains over this day and night, and our Chairman is taking very serious steps to accelerate it. This is our priority right now, not elections or anything else." Kılıç emphasized that as the MHP, they are acting consistently and that taking wrong steps could drag Turkey into disaster.

ÖZGÜR ÖZEL'S "BY-ELECTION" CALL EVALUATED

Kılıç also touched upon CHP Chairman Özgür Özel's call for a "by-election." Kılıç stated that the two-stage election system planned by Özel does not seem very feasible. "We do not see it as very possible for Mr. Özgür to convince 22 deputies to resign," Kılıç said, noting that the CHP is currently dealing with other problems. Kılıç said that as the MHP, they are closely following the situation of the CHP and that their party acts more cautiously before commenting on this matter.

"WE SUPPORT A STRONG OPPOSITION"

Kılıç emphasized that having a strong opposition is important for Turkey's democracy and development. She stated that the MHP will continue to display a stable approach both domestically and internationally so that Turkey can build its future in a healthy way. Kılıç also stated that they are against the MHP's "4S" approach, adding, "Our Chairman is also giving advice to Mr. Özgür. He says, 'Pull yourselves together, be a strong opposition.'"

"WE MUST NOT TAKE WRONG STEPS"

Explaining her party's approach, Kılıç expressed that they avoid taking wrong steps and that they hold the value of Turkey and the safety of its citizens above everything else.
