MHP's Büyükataman responds to Ümit Özdağ with insults: 'Social media clown'

Zafer Party Chairman Ümit Özdağ had criticized the remarks made by MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli during his group meeting, stating, "These sentences read by Bahçeli have nothing to do with the ideas defended by Ziya Gökalp, Atatürk, and Türkeş."

A response to these words from Ümit Özdağ came from MHP Secretary General İsmet Büyükataman. Büyükataman used the following expression for Özdağ: "Social media clown and certified political provocateur Ümit Özdağ is intentionally trying to distort the unifying words of our Chairman, Mr. Devlet Bahçeli, regarding the Turkish nation."

Here is Büyükataman's statement:

"Social media clown and certified political provocateur Ümit Özdağ is intentionally trying to distort the unifying words of our Chairman, Mr. Devlet Bahçeli, regarding the Turkish nation.

Throughout his political life, this person, who has no talent other than deviousness, wordplay, and certified lies that incite the public, is attempting to sow divisive discord through our Leader's words.

As our Chairman Mr. Devlet Bahçeli stated yesterday; 'Our party embraces every person living in our country within the definition of the 'Turkish nation' and views them all with the same eyes. Regardless of their origin, language, religion, or sect, every person who is bound to the Republic of Turkey by citizenship is our own flesh and blood, and an essential element of our nation.'

Our Chairman's words are very clear and are not divisive, but rather unifying; the target of his words are the traitors who try to divide and separate our noble nation by wearing various disguises and using different masks on various fronts.'

Why is Ümit Özdağ, who winks at the treacherous ones eyeing the unity of Turkey with his statements and operates to divide our nation under the mask of a so-called nationalist in a loom of sedition, bothered by these words?

If Ümit Özdağ is taking these words personally, then he himself is a link in the chain of betrayal and is on the same front as those targeting our national existence."

WHAT HAD ZAFER PARTY CHAIRMAN ÖZDAĞ SAID?

Bahçeli claims that there is a CONFLICT between Alevi and Sunni citizens in Turkey, 

He says there is a DIVISION between Turks and Kurds. 

After dividing the Turkish Nation into 4 conflicting and separating parts, which nation does Bahçeli expect to resolve the conflict and separation?

Let us underline this. 

Although there are occasional tensions between Alevis and Sunnis, there is NO CONFLICT other than local quarrels. In fact, the period we are going through is the period when relations are most harmonious. 

Dividing the Turkish Nation into Turks and Kurds is already a flawed approach, but what is even more flawed is talking about separation. 

While tens of thousands of village guards have been fighting against terrorism for the Turkish flag and the Turkish homeland for decades, 

And while the Armenian structure at the roots of the PKK betrayal is present in state records, saying that Turks and Kurds are separating is serving the enemy. 

These sentences read by Bahçeli have nothing to do with the ideas defended by Ziya Gökalp, Atatürk, and Türkeş.
